New:At the CMDRA race in Edmonton last year Tim Stevenson
out of Stoney Plain Alberta asked Andy if he would like to make some runs in his Nostalgia Nitro Funny car. Andy
has never been in a race car, but who could refuse an offer like that. They went to the NHRA event in Mission, BC
to do his licensing passes. The first pass was to be an easy pass, but Andy went a bit further than he was supposed
to and clocked in at 7.02 @ 204 mph. The second pass was a 1000 ft pass at 6.82 @ 195 mph and the third pass was a full pass
for the license at 6.71 @ 221 mph. Andy really enjoyed it and now has his Nostalgia Funny car license. Andy grew up at
the race track watching his Dad & Uncle run their AA/A 23 T Altered. Andy says it was a dream come true and it was
awesome. He had Terry Capp, Donny Couch and Steven Romanassi giving him pointers and great advise. Now he has to convince
Chuck Haynes "one of his heros" to let him in his Jet Dragster for a couple of passes, Haaa! We plan on running some more
funny car races again in 08. We will keep you informed as the schedule is confirmed.
Top Fuel bike: We completed the T/F bike a day before the last CMDRA race in Mission. We did not plan to run
it there just make a couple of short test passes. This bike has parts that we have never had the luxury of running.
Computer, fuel system, clutch cannon or a PRP motor or a motor anywhere near 186 cid. It also has a new clutch system
in it that also needed some testing. We made 1 easy qualifying pass at 7.20 @ 172 mph to qualify #8 out of 13. We had
Rob Smith in the first round and Andy felt the bike wasn't ready for a pass and shut it down right off the line. We
have the bike for sale but when the AHDRA Vegas race came close and the bike was not sold, Andy said lets go and see
what it can do. We made a couple of easy test passes on Thursday evening at 7.6 and 7.4. On Friday qualifying
round 1 Andy ran a 6.83 @ 188 mph. Round #2 6.666 @ 192 mph qualifying #13 out of 22 bikes. We didn't run round
3. Round 1 had us up against the best in the world Doug Vancil. Andy smoked the tire right off the line. We went into
Outlaw fuel and there was 22 bikes ready to redeem themselves. Some of the best in the business, Steve Dorn, Dean Comunell,
Mike Scott and many more. The first round we ran a 6.64 @ 194 winning and coming back for round 2 which we ran a 6.59 @ 203
mph. This gave us runner up to Steve Dorn. The bike runs and handles great, but it still needs to sell as Andy wants to
get the new P/F bike done and the blower bike done. Not bad our 9th pass in the 50's. Now it is a proven bike with a tune
up for hopfully a new owner.
The blower bike: The blower bike has been started fresh starting with nothing but the 2 blowers. The old 16 inch tire
chassis is now being made into a big tire T/F bike that is also for sale. We just recieved a custom set of 60 deg cases and
cylinders. We are building the motor plates as we speek around this combination. We have the heads reversed so the blowers
will have a nice straight shot into the heads. This caused problems for push rod angles so we had a custom cam chest built
to get the angles correct. The exhaust will be coming out between the cylinders. We had a custom inboard clutch built
by Bonninfainte that we will be using. Once the motor plates are done, we will mount the 2 blowers, clutch, jachshaft and
belt drive. When that is all complete we will take it to John Storace at weekend frame to let him build the chasis around it.
The bike will have a 16 inch rear tire and 108 inch wheel base. My partner Ryan Batty and I are putting this bike together as a fun project.
We have been waiting on suppliers. It is out of our control, so we have found private people that want
to get involved and help build it. Now we are starting to get things done. We will keep you informed on progress.
Kim has been sick: We finally found out that she has a rare skin desease that could result in cancer at anytime. She has
to go for tests every 6 months to see if it progresses. So far so good. They have found a drug that helps a great deal with
her pain, so she is feeling better. Thanks for your concern.
